Some of the activities and projects at SCIL where volunteers are needed on a regular basis throughout the year are listed below. Some of these are quarterly, monthly and weekly projects, though schedules are usually adjustable to meet different needs.
Advocacy Assistant – provide support to the Access department which assists consumers with any physical and/or societal barriers
AT Assistant – provide administrative support to the Assistive Technology department by preparing equipment for donation, following up on TAP applications and waiting lists for equipment.
AT Equipment Assistant – help the Assistive Technology department in assembling, repairing and preparing equipment for donation to consumers.
Branson Office Assistant – assist the Branson branch office with day-to-day clerical duties.
Branson Social Club Secretary – assist the Branson office with scheduling of Social Club activities and requests for transportation.
Bulk Mail Assistant – provide assistance with bulk mailings.
CDS Assistant – provide administrative support to the CDS Department.
CDS Payroll Assistant – provide clerical support for the CDS Payroll Department.
Communications Assistant – assist the Marketing & Development Director with various marketing efforts.
Marketing Assistant – Public Relations – assist the Marketing & Development Director individually or as a team in a variety of marketing areas.
Social Media Assistant – Social Media – assist the Marketing & Development Director individually or as a team in a variety of marketing areas.
Consumer Yard & House Maintenance Worker – respond to consumer needs for light house and yard work that they are unable to perform due to their disability.
Development Assistant – assist the Marketing & Development Director with various fundraising projects.
Driver’s Education Assistant – assist individuals in preparation for taking the written portion of the Missouri Driver’s Exam.
Event Worker – provide various types of clerical, physical and social support during SCIL events.
Gardener/Landscaper – responsible for the overall appearance of SCIL grounds, except for lawn mowing.
Graphic Design Assistant – assist the Marketing & Development Director with various graphic design projects.
HR Administrative Assistant – provide administrative support and special HR or business/support projects to the Executive Director.
IL Assistant – provide administrative support to the Independent Living and Administrative Departments.
Information & Referral Assistant – assist the Disability Advocates with taking Information & Referral (I&R) calls and walk-ins.
Janitorial Worker – complete various jobs around the office and landscaping.
Maintenance Worker – complete various jobs around the office and landscaping.
RAMPS Assistant – provide administrative support to the RAMPS department which handles home modifications, ramps and other projects.
RAMPS Repair Assistant – help make minor repairs to existing ramps and home modifications already in place at consumers’ homes.
Reader – read (newspapers, books, etc.) to individuals with visual impairments.
Receptionist – provide phone support to the front desk.
Resource Room Attendant – maintain current information and accurate filing of various resources in the Resource Room.
Social Club Assistant – provide support during SCIL social club events.
Youth Group Assistant – assist with weekly Your Life youth group and special activities.
